Low Hagg Farm is perfectly located between Pickering and Helmsley – nestled amid beautiful countryside and farmland but easily accessible from the A170. We are just outside the boundary of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, and within easy reach of:

Kirkbymoorside (1.5 miles)

Helmsley (6 miles)

Pickering (8 miles)

Malton (15 miles)

The excellent walking and magnificent scenery of the National Park are on the doorstep, as are the picturesque villages of Hutton-le-Hole, Lastingham and Appleton-le-Moors with its free roaming sheep.

Pickering is the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway – a ‘must do’ day out for all visitors to the area. Beautifully restored, the railway runs from Pickering to Whitby through the picturesque moorland village of Goathland (which fans of TV’s long-running “Heartbeat” series will know as Aidensfield).

The amazing City of York, Harrogate, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and the Yorkshire Coast are all within easy driving distance.

Malton – the foodies’ favourite – is a short drive.  Thornton-le-Dale and the magnificent Dalby Forest and all it has to offer to the outdoor enthusiast are also within easy reach.

There is a wealth of historic properties to visit: the ancient abbeys of Rievaulx, Byland and Fountains, Castle Howard (where “Brideshead Revisited” was filmed) and more “homely” properties such as Nunnington Hall and Duncombe Park offer lovely days out.

The numerous towns and villages offer a huge variety of fabulous places to eat and drink, to suit all tastes and pockets.  From cafes and coffee shops beautiful pubs and top-notch restaurants with Michelin stars, we have it all!
