We stayed in pheasant cottage in june 2017. The cottage is lovely lots of room and well equipped and the dogs were very welcome and they loved the enclosed garden.

We also had a lovely home made cake on arrive after our long journey and a warm welcome from Tracy and Patrick.

Would recommend staying here lots to see around the area from Whitby to the lavender farm  and we will be back next year for another stay in the cottage

At Low Hagg Farm your dogs are not just allowed, they are welcomed with open arms (or paws!)

We are dog people, have dogs of our own and love seeing other dogs come on their holidays.  We know from our own past experience it can be hard to find genuinely dog friendly accommodation, so we’ve done everything we can to make your four legged friends welcome here. Dogs deserve a great holiday too! All our cottages our dog friendly; solid floors allow for easy cleaning and secure gardens mean your dog can have the freedom it needs without stress or worry.

And just because we accept dogs it doesn’t mean we compromise on quality and standards.  We absolutely do not – our cottages are top notch for everyone.

Three dogs are welcome free of charge in Pheasant Cottage and two in Grouse and Partridge.   All we ask in return is that you are considerate dog owners, respect our property and other guests, and don’t leave us to clear up after them, inside or out. Extra dogs will be considered, on request, for a small additional fee.

We provide:

  • Dog throws for the sofas
  • Doggy treats
  • Dog water bowl
  • Dog towels
  • Buckets, sponges and portable “Mud Daddy” for dog washing

We ask that dogs are not left unattended in the cottages (this stresses and upsets them, resulting in barking and worse!) but there are numerous dog friendly pubs and cafes in the area and we have provided a list in your cottage.  We can also give details for doggy day care facilities and dog-sitters, should you wish to leave you dog for a visit to somewhere he can’t accompany you.

Whilst we have made the cottage as dog friendly as possible, we must stress that should your dogs cause any damage to the property or its contents, it must be paid for.

Not a dog person?

Don’t worry or be put off if you are not a dog person.  Our housekeeping standards are impeccable and we’re confident that you won’t know a dog has stayed in the cottage before you.
